What to look out for on cosmetics packaging?
On the labels of shampoos and hair care and styling products we can increasingly find the declaration: without parabens, silicones and SLS. Why is this important information? Parabens are preservatives that make cosmetics much longer to use after opening the package. Unfortunately, they can penetrate through the skin into our bloodstream. Studies also show that parabens have adverse effects on hormones. Silicones are used in shampoos and conditioners for hair, because they cover the hair cuticle with an ideal layer that protects it from harmful UV rays and heat. Silicone, however, makes it impossible for valuable nutrients to penetrate the hair's cuticle and roots. It is also difficult to effectively wash it out of the hair. SLSs, on the other hand, are strong detergents also used in household chemicals that have cleansing and degreasing properties. Unfortunately, most shampoos contain them
How to properly cleanse the scalp and hair?
It's a good idea to start by thoroughly cleansing your hair and scalp of any residual dead cells, heavy metals and chemical particles. Exactly the same as in the case of facial and body care: without thorough cleansing and exfoliation, there is no chance for the effective action of care ingredients and re-generation. Natural cosmetics include cleansing shampoos and hair scrubs. Applied regularly once a week, they will have a salutary effect. You can also prepare the purifying preparation yourself. One of the simplest is a recipe for a scrub made from sea salt, lemon and olive oil. Just mix two tablespoons of sea salt, the juice squeezed from one lemon and two tablespoons of olive oil. The resulting concoction should be massaged into the scalp and into damp unwashed hair, and after 15-20 minutes washed off with a mild shampoo and lukewarm water. A cool stream at the end will close the pores of the scalp and the scales of the hair.
What do you find in the composition of natural cosmetics?
It is difficult to completely eliminate chemical components from the composition of hair products, because they are responsible for, among other things.. for durability and against microbial and mold growth. However, it is worth reaching for cosmetics that have as natural a composition as possible. What do we find in them? Mostly popular herbs designed to regulate seborrhea metabolism. They also make hair smooth, easy to comb and shiny after washing. Shampoos and conditioners may also contain keratin (a natural protein) or vegetable oils, which foam perfectly while keeping the hair cuticle closed and optimally smooth.
What is plant-based hair coloring?
Vegetable coloring, although it has more than 6,000 years of tradition, has not had a good reputation until recently: it is not permanent, it is complicated, it does not cover gray hair - these are the main objections. Today, with the growing awareness of environmental and health protection, it is again becoming fashionable, and thanks to advanced technology, also more effective. Eco-color does not contain ammonia, silicones, mineral oils or artificial fragrances. Plant-based paint formulas are dominated by natural ingredients, such as organic grape seed oil. Increasingly popular vegan paints (e.g.. Khadi henna) are powdered mixtures of plants. They use only pigments that are found in the flowers, leaves, stems and roots of plants.
