SkyShowtime in Poland debuted on Valentine's Day! Here are the 5 most interesting titles on offer from the service
SkyShowtime is another streaming platform available after Netflix, HBO Max, Apple TV+, Disney+ and Amazon Prime. The service is scheduled to debut on February 14, 2023, and will primarily feature productions from major Hollywood studios Universal Pictures and Paramount Pictures, as well as DreamWorks studios and the Peacock platform.
The cost of a monthly subscription to SkyShowtime also looks pretty good compared to the competition. Access to the service's library was priced at .99 with .99 for HBO Max or .99 for Disney.. Especially since a 50% discount on the service is also expected at the start of SkyShowtime. Most important from the perspective of viewers, however, is a really good and diverse library of films and series, which at the start will count about 800 productions. And while that's definitely less than Netflix or HBO, there will still be some real gems in the catalog. Five of them are described below
"Top Gun: Maverick".
"Top Gun: Maverick" is absolutely the biggest hit in the SkyShowtime library.. The sequel to the 1986 classic. was heralded by Paramount as a real cinematic firecracker, and indeed the final production met all the expectations of the public. And I think she even outgrew them. This can be seen in the six Oscar nominations, the second best financial result in the world after "Avatar" (the film earned almost .5 billion!) and the renaissance of Tom Cruise's career.
"Warszawianka"
Another series written by Jakub Żulczyk after "Belfr" and "Blindfolded". Originally, "Varsovienne" was created for HBO Max, but the platform eventually sold the rights to SkyShowtime, and it is there that the production will debut. According to official announcements - already in early March So there is something to look forward to, especially since the creators of "Warszawianka" also include director Jacek Borcuch and Borys Szyc. The latter will play the lead role of a Warsaw bon vivant, party boy and playboy who cannot find his way in his own life. Sounds very promising
"Viking"
"Viking" by Robert Eggers is one of the more interesting films of last year. It's a brutal, naturalistic, at times savage depiction of medieval Scandinavia that literally grabs the viewer by the throat and pulls him or her into the screen with the richness and variety of sensory experiences. At times the films can be airtight and inaccessible, but this is definitely one of those screenings that stays in the memory for a long time.
"Super Pumped: The Battle For Uber".
Uber is not only a popular app that will get you home from a party in one piece and not starve to death the next day, but it is first and foremost a giant Silicon Valley corporation that, like other giant corporations, has its own behinds. And it's not just about taking advantage of its employees, but also about unfair market plays, hiring hackers or supporting Donald Trump. Series " Super Pumped: The Battle For Uber" shows in its full glory in the all these glitters and shadows
"Hello."
Series in line with the trend of screen adaptations of epic computer games. "Hello." will tell the story of the conflict between humans and the space alliance, which takes place in the XXVI century. So expect - as in the original - super-soldiers in super-suits, taking part in a super-collapse. And this is on a cosmic scale!
